چکیده

A novel amplitude-modulated continuous wave (AMCW) time-of-flight (ToF) scanning sensor based on parallel-phase demodulation is proposed and demonstrated. Contrast to the conventional AMCW ToF which utilizes serial-phase demodulation, processes each different phase shift independently in parallel manner, so that can maintain high contrast short total integration time. Based these characteristics of platform be implemented with 2D laser system a single photodetector, maintaining moderate frame rate, optical SNR, very pixel resolution. In validating demonstration, shows extremely low measured distance noise per reference 0.056 % at 1.50 m only 30 mW illumination power. Additionally, FHD scale (1920 × 1080) highly precise 3D depth map 800 nsec time achieved using sensor.

Long-range time-of-flight scanning sensor based on high-speed time-correlated single-photon counting.

We describe a scanning time-of-flight system which uses the time-correlated single-photon counting technique to produce three-dimensional depth images of distant, noncooperative surfaces when these targets are illuminated by a kHz to MHz repetition rate pulsed laser source. The data for the scene are acquired using a scanning optical system and an individual single-photon detector. Depth images...

Scanning Time-of-flight Laser Sensor for Rendezvous Manoeuvres

Rendezvous and docking/berthing are key manoeuvers for various missions [1]. In those rendezvous phases where the accuracy of absolute navigation (e.g. by satellite navigation services like GPS or GLONASS) is no longer sufficient, sensors have to provide information about the relative position of active vehicle (chaser) and passive vehicle (target). Satellite navigation (differential GPS), radi...

Time of Flight Sensor with a Flow Parallel Wire

A time of flight sensor has been equipped with a sensing wire parallel to the flow direction (flow parallel wire, FPW). A heat pulse is generated with a coil in the flow channel. The FPW has a center tap allowing its upstream and downstream parts to join in a half bridge. When a heat pulse passes the FPW, a large output peak is generated. The time between heat pulse generation and recording the...

Design and Simulation of a New Highly Sensitive Gas Sensor Based on Negative Refraction Photonic Crystal

In this paper, design and simulation of a new highly sensitive gas sensor based on a hybrid photonic crystal (PC) structure, containing negative and positive refractive index sections, is presented. It has been shown that using a PC with negative refraction in the first section, the transmitted power is concentrated on the entrance of the sensing channel, and the transmission of the proposed se...

Improved measurement linearity and precision for AMCW time-of-flight range imaging cameras.

Time-of-flight range imaging systems utilizing the amplitude modulated continuous wave (AMCW) technique often suffer from measurement nonlinearity due to the presence of aliased harmonics within the amplitude modulation signals. Typically a calibration is performed to correct these errors. We demonstrate an alternative phase encoding approach that attenuates the harmonics during the sampling pr...
